Student Exchange Program

KNU is keen to encourage reciprocal student exchange with its partner institutions and thus offers various options for exchange students visiting KNU.

  • Korean Language Program
    • Exchange students can take a level test (interview) in the first week of the semester and will be assigned to a class according to your Korean proficiency. They can take both if they want.

      · [ Department of Korean Language and Literature ] Korean Regular Course - 3 Credits for regular course
  • Buddy Program
    • Korean student buddy is assigned to all exchange students for one semester
    • Pick-up service for the in-bound exchange students.
  • Cultural Experiences and Student Activities
    • Korean Culture Experience
      (Wearing traditional dress 'Hanbok', Learning traditional musical instruments 'Samulnori', Drinking traditional tea)
    • Picnic, Field trip, Gethering and Farewell Party
    • International food festival during the student festival season in Fall
    • Individual activities with buddy
  • Duration
    • Spring Semester : from the beginning of March to the middle of June
    • Fall Semester : from the beginning of September to the middle fo December
  • Eligibility
    • Applicants must be currently enrolled as undergraduate students(graduate students) at a KNU's partner University and should be recommended from the Home university
  • Tuition
    • Tuition at KNU will be waived for all exchange students.
  • Housing
    • Accommodation is available at on-campus dormitories.
    • Dormitory fee(one semester) : approximately USD1,000(including 3 meals a day at a dormitory cafeteria)
  • Nomination Deadline
    • Spring Semester: November 20
    • Fall Semester: May 20
      Thank you for your interest in [KNU's Student Exchange Program]. We receive application through a sister university's staff who is in charge of exchange programs and not directly from a student. So! please contact the staff of your university to apply for KNU exchange programs first.
