KNU and Chuncheon City Signed 「Global Chuncheon Scholarship Business Agreement」

The signing ceremony was attended by 10 officials, including President Heon-young Kim and Chuncheon Mayor Jae-soo Lee, and the two organizations agreed to promote cooperation projects to revitilize university-local educational cooperation, and expand the international exchange network by attracting and nurturing excellent foreign students in Chuncheon’s overseas exchange cities.
This project is for new graduate students who are from developing countries among foreign exchange cities* in Chuncheon. Chuncheon City will recommend students and provide the cost of their stay, while KNU will provide full tuition fee.
*Chuncheon’s exchange cities （6 countries/12 cities）: Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China, Shenyang, Liaoning, Dalian, Liaoning, Zhangzhou, Jiangsu, Nanyang, Henan, Baoding, Hebei / Hohu, Yaguchi, Japan, Kagamigahara City, Gifu Prefecture / Addis Ababa City, Ethiopia / Dalat City, Lam Dong Province, Vietnam / Medellin City, Antioquia Province, Colombia / Bayle City, Southern Denmark Province, Denmark
The number of applicants is decided through consultation every year, and in the first year , three scholarship students will be selected and supported for two years.
President Heon-young Kim said, “I expect that talented people who have studied through this scholarship will grow into global leaders who acts as an important bridge between their home countries and Korea in the future. We will continue to expand various cooperative projects where universities and local communities coexist.”
